Magical Alps
ski holidays in South Tyrol
Who doesn’t love a nice ski holiday in the Alps? But that’s just one of the many winter attractions that the Eisacktal valley has to offer. The mountains surrounding Gudon/Gufidaun are also the perfect setting for a rejuvenating immersion into nature, with opportunities ranging from cross-country skiing and snowshoe hiking to ice skating and winter trekking.
The winter sports facilities are impressive with their efficient organisation and manicured slopes. For example, you can find fantastic, highly-scenic toboggan and cross-country ski runs in the Villnösstal valley, on the Plose and on the Villanderer Alp. If you’re up for some ice skating, you won’t even have to leave Gudon.
There really is something to suit every taste… the nearby Grödental valley, for instance, is home to the world-renowned Dolomiti Superski network. If you have never heard of it, let’s just say it is a skier’s paradise with state-of-the-art lifts and pistes for everyone from absolute beginners to consummate pros. Speaking of which, ski courses for children are also available at the local ski areas.
If you are visiting during the Advent period, you will have the chance to visit one of South Tyrol’s most popular winter attractions – the Christmas markets, such as the one in Bressanone/Brixen or the smaller one in Chiusa/Klausen, possibly the quaintest of them all.
Treat yourself to a winter break or ski holiday in the Eisacktal valley – you won’t regret it!
